The Borderlands movie stinks, but you can get the games on sale

The long-in-development Border areas movie is in theaters now. You can go see it this weekend, or, if the reviews are any indication, you might be better off staying home and playing some Borderlands games. And right now, you can get the entire series for a big discount on almost every platform.

The easiest way to expand your Borderlands collection is through Borderlands Collection: Pandora’s Boxa bundle consisting of Borderlands 1, 2And 3, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, Stories from the border areasAnd New stories from the border areas, along with each game’s DLC. The collection normally costs $150, but you can now get it for $37.49 on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Steam. It even came to Nintendo Switch this week and is available for the same price. All deals appear to end on August 15. You can’t get this bundle on the Epic Games Store, but the platform is also running a franchise sale.

While all the individual titles are also for sale, this is by far the cheapest and most efficient way to do it. You also don’t have to pay for the titles you already own.

The only title still missing is the spin-off Wonderland by Tiny Tinabut that’s also discounted across multiple platforms. The Epic Games Store has it for $15, down from $60; the base game isn’t on sale on Steam, but it is part of some deeply discounted bundles along with the DLC.

The Borderlands series has been around since 2009 and has become one of the best first-person looter shooters. It is a series that is all about guns and each main title has introduced increasingly dumber options, like one that shoots burgers or another that just shoots more guns. Other titles have experimented with the formula. For example, Wonderland by Tiny Tina combines first-person shooter gameplay with a top-down RPG system, while the Stories from the border areas games, created in collaboration with Telltale Games, are choice-driven narrative adventure games.

It’s been a few years since a mainline Borderlands game came out, and we’re expecting some news about it Borderlands 4 within the coming year.
