Pop artist Messina (Jennifer Caroline Messina at birth) is an LGBTQ American music artist. Messina’s music focuses on mental health and is based on her personal life experiences. Her music is known by her fans as “raw and authentic”. Messina’s fan base has been dubbed the “Messina Mafia” based on her Sicilian heritage and entrepreneurial work ethic.

Pop artist Messina’s debut country album CITY Rose is all about her heartbreak over her last relationship. She chose country music because this story takes place in North Carolina and country music is known to be one of the best ways to describe heartbreaking pain. We call that word painting. Her latest single titled “No Longer Wasted” is available on Spotify and has an impressive 150,000 streams, just one week after its release.

Pop artist Messina also loves helping her community. She co-owns an LGBTQ resource organization called “LGBTQ VSAP” (Veterans suicide awareness program). Their main efforts are to help veterans who are struggling with mental health. “LGBTQ VSAP” provides resources and awareness to veterans and their families to help them understand how to help their veteran or retiree. This is a huge passion for pop artist Messina, as she is a combat veteran and member of the LGBTQ community herself, and has attempted suicide numerous times in her life. Because of this, she is determined to give people the resources they need so they can find hope, just like she did.

What makes pop artist Messina unique is the all-encompassing vision of all her experiences, her dreams, and her imagination. Pop artist Messina hopes that her audience will feel free to express themselves fully and not be judged by who they are or the traumatic experiences they have had in their lives. Critics may raise an eyebrow when they ask why pop artist Messina is releasing a country album. However, pop artist Messina doesn’t feel like one genre defines her. She has performed rap, pop music, and even sung a classic Broadway number.

Pop artist Messina is currently working on performances such as “PLAYTOY” with her friend and fellow artist NiCKY LICKY. They are both trying to push the lesbian music scene. They are both performing in West Hollywood on August 2nd, where they will be screening “PLAYTOY.” Nicky Licky’s debut album and performance will be presented by American Nu Networks. The film is directed by record executive Damon Dash and writer Raquel M. Horn.
