Man Arrested in Waikiki on Alleged Theft and Other Charges

A 30-year-old man was arrested in Waikiki on Saturday on suspicion of robbery and other charges after police reportedly found a firearm and narcotics in his fanny pack.

The man was arrested at the intersection of Lewers and Lauula streets around 7:39 p.m., according to a Honolulu Police Department booking log. He is being held pending investigation and is facing charges of second-degree robbery, having a place to keep a handgun, having a place to keep ammunition, three counts of third-degree promoting a dangerous drug and violating a firearms prohibition law, according to an HPD highlight.
