There are more than 600 investigations into violent actions by the far-right ‘Little Commandos’.

On Monday, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro convened a meeting of the Council of State and the National Defense Council, which was also attended by the nation’s Attorney General, Tarek William Saab.

The official presented an updated report on the actions taken by his institution to investigate the events that took place after the July 28 presidential elections, when Venezuela’s far-right opposition rejected the victory of the Bolivarian leader and began violent actions in the city.

During a live television report, Saab explained that there are more than 600 expert analyses and criminal investigations underway into allegations of violent actions planned by the Venezuelan far-right opposition through the so-called “Small Commandos.”

“Venezuela has seen an unprecedented escalation of coup attempts. They tried to impose a ‘color revolution’ similar to the one the United States funded in Ukraine,” he said. “Here they want to do the same thing. They called for the overthrow of a legitimately elected government, which resulted in tragic consequences with violence and death.”

In the 48 hours following the July 28 elections, the Venezuelan far-right camp “carried out actions to persecute and eradicate Chavismo, and hate crimes aimed at eliminating people because of their political affiliation,” the attorney general stressed.

The text reads: “During the Defense Council, Tarek William Saab pointed out that 192 people were injured in the violence. Ninety-seven of the injured belong to the state security services. Fifty-eight of the injured are from the national police, 32 belong to the Guard, 6 to the state police and 1 to the CICPC.”

“The perpetrators of the deaths were the Small Commandos, as revealed by biological, physical and telephone investigations. The highest number of cases occurred in Caracas and Aragua, where seven people died in each region,” he said. “Deaths were also registered in the states of Bolivar, Yaracuy, Miranda and Zulia. Sixty-eight percent of the killings occurred at night,” Saab said.

“They used criminal gangs linked to terrorism and drug trafficking. I have 170 videos with the corresponding expert analyses,” the Bolivarian official stressed.

During the meeting of the Council of State and the National Defense Council, President Maduro noted that the Venezuelan authorities have managed to control the fascist violence and restore peace to the country in record time.

“The best vaccine against hate crimes spread through social media is timely, forceful and courageous justice,” he said, stressing that far-right organizations seek to intimidate society and create a “state of terror.”

“They plan to seize power through violence. But we are not cowards and we have stood our ground bravely. We will not surrender our country or its natural resources to imperialism. We will not betray the people,” Maduro stressed.
