Central Florida man charged with 50 counts of child pornography possession

A 34-year-old Central Florida man has been arrested and charged with 50 counts of possession of child pornography.

Christian S. Petri of DeLand was arrested on suspicion of child pornography after the Volusia Sheriff’s Office Child Exploitation Unit investigated a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

After obtaining a search warrant, VSO detectives discovered explicit videos and still images on Petri’s electronic devices depicting sexual abuse of female and male victims ranging in age from 2 to 13. Detectives believe he downloaded the images.

According to local law enforcement, Petri was arrested on a warrant when he turned himself in at the Volusia County Branch Jail in Daytona Beach. He was being held at the jail pending an initial court appearance.
