Who we are looking for

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Senior Data Analyst to join our talented Insights and Analytics team to develop and refine data-driven approaches to drive player and live services strategy for emerging IP in the 2K portfolio.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of game telemetry and the player insights it helps unlock to influence product development and overarching business decisions. The candidate will demonstrate expertise in translating business objectives into analytics and telemetry requirements, enabling effective collaboration with product, monetization, and marketing teams in identifying data-driven solutions for live services and commercial business decisions. Additionally, the right candidate will be comfortable developing new metrics and creating automated reports using a variety of analytical tools and techniques, all tailored to the unique needs of our studio and publishing partners. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive problem-solving approach and exhibit highly effective cross-disciplinary communication skills.

What you are going to do

  • Work with Central’s Data Engineers, Data QA, and technical teams to determine telemetry requirements and ensure delivery of high-quality data needed for analytics and business reporting.
  • Work with our player insights team to define telemetry requirements that enable player-centric product testing and player feedback analysis.
  • Analyze in-game player telemetry and feedback data using statistical techniques to gain key, actionable insights.
  • Provide definitions for metrics and create aggregations used for reporting and analysis.
  • Use analytics tools like DataBricks or Tableau to create automated reports, engaging visualizations, and dashboards to track performance trends and strategic insights.
  • Mentor and support junior data analysts in the team.

What makes you a good match?

  • 5+ years of experience as a data analyst with a focus on product development with a player experience centric approach.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to monitor data accuracy and reliability throughout the various stages of the data pipeline.
  • Experience leveraging analytical, quantitative and business judgment skills to leverage game telemetry to inform product and player strategies.
  • Strong expertise in relational databases, SQL (experience with Snowflake, Databricks).
  • Hands-on experience with programming languages ​​such as Python or R and familiarity with data analysis libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Plotly.
  • Strong data storytelling skills and experience with visualization.
  • Experience with project management and communication tools such as Asana, Confluence, JIRA and Slack
  • Excellent collaborator with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships, both within the team and with cross-functional partners
  • An independent thinker who takes initiative and approaches problems in an innovative way, with an emphasis on scalable solutions.
  • Experience in the gaming industry is a plus.

The salary range for this position in California upon commencement of employment is expected to be between $98,400 and $145,620 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on market location and may vary further depending on individual applicant factors, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience and other objective business considerations. Subject to these same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may include other elements, including a bonus and/or stock awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial and/or other benefits. Details regarding participation in these benefit plans will be provided when an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, the employee will be in an “at-will” position and the Company reserves the right to change the base salary (as well as other discretionary payments or compensation or benefit programs) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
