Two female officers receive President’s Police Medal

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma will honour two women police officers who have rendered outstanding and commendable services in the police force by awarding them the President’s Police Medal on the occasion of 78th Independence Day during a state function at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

The women police officers who received the President’s Police Medal are Additional Director General of Police Anti-Corruption Bureau II Smita Srivastava and Additional Director General of Police Housing Binita Thakur.

1995-batch IPS officer Smita Srivastava played a key role in protecting stranded people in Rajasthan during the COVID-19 lockdown and ensuring smooth flow of traffic.

She ensured the establishment of Area Traffic Control System for successful implementation of policing module of IRAD programme and better traffic management as SP Traffic Jaipur.

Binita Thakur, a 1996 batch IPS officer, has done extensive work during her service against criminals in Karauli and drug mafia in Baran. She has also dismantled the Pardhi criminal gang network.

She put an end to violent clashes in the Hanumangarh-Sriganganagar farmers’ movement and exposed a large-scale international arms trade in Sriganganagar.

The department’s promotion and recruitment process also went smoothly.

Both female police officers will be awarded the President’s Police Medal on the occasion of Independence Day 2024 for their distinguished and distinguished services rendered with dedication and devotion to duty.
