Additional charges filed against Bonne Terre man in child sex crime case – Daily Journal Online

Andrew Scott Miller, 39, of Bonne Terre now faces a total of eight felony charges against him in a sex crime case involving a child.  A June 20 press release issued by the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department stated that the SFCSD Detective Division initiated an investigation and was able to obtain evidence to show the suspect was taking nude images of a minor child and sharing the images in video chats with other adult males. Miller was taken into custody with no bond and charged with six felony counts:  sexual exploitation of a minor, sexual exploitation of a minor child, promoting child pornography, use of a child in sexual performance, possession of child pornography, and sexual misconduct involving a child under the age of 15. He pleaded not guilty and waived the formal reading of his charges. 

On June 27, Sarah Jackson, Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for St. Francois County filed an amended complaint against him, adding two more felony charges: two counts of statutory sodomy with a person less than 12 years of age. There was a confined docket hearing and Assistant Public Defender Geralyn Ruess was assigned to the defendant’s case.

On July 11, a preliminary hearing was scheduled for Aug. 1, which was waived by a motion filed by Ruess on July 31. The defendant is scheduled to appear before Judge Wendy Wexler Horn in St. Francois County on Sept. 20.
