Morganton man charged with multiple counts of sexual exploitation

Andrew Clay Devinney, 30, of Ridge Court in Morganton, was arrested Tuesday (August 13) by Burke County Sheriff’s Officers and charged with eight felony counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

On Tuesday, the Burke County Sheriff’s Office conducted a joint operation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation regarding allegations of distribution of child pornography. The operation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at an address on Ridge Court in Morganton, and another search warrant outside of Morganton.

Devinney was taken into custody and transported to the Burke County Jail under a $500,000 bond. As of late Wednesday night (August 14), he was still listed as an inmate in Burke County. As of this morning (August 15), he was listed as one of the inmates being held in the Catawba County Detention Facility, although no charges were listed out of Catawba County. A Burke County District Court date has been set for August 30.
