VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu told AP that there is no room for political feuds against rivals during the term of the TD-led alliance government. “Instead, our government will make efforts to restore the glory of the past in Andhra Pradesh,” he said here on Thursday.

After hoisting the national flag at the IGMC stadium on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day, Naidu said AP, which was in the grip of lawlessness, destruction of institutions, corruption and land grabbing for the last five years, got its freedom back in the recent elections. “We will fulfil all the expectations of the people. Land, sand, wine, mines and drug mafia were ruling for the last five years,” he asserted.

Naidu said, “We aim to build the AP brand. Simple government and effective governance is our main motto. While the central government has launched its Viksit Bharat-2047 effort, AP is preparing its Vision-2047 to build a Vikasitha Andhra Pradesh by 2047. The details will be announced to the people on October 2.”

He noted that the Centre has announced special assistance of Rs 15,000 crore per year for reshaping Amaravati as the state capital. Delhi has also promised to complete the Polavaram project and give a special package for the northern coastal regions of Andhra and Prakasam, he said.

“We will soon discuss the issues of bifurcation with Telangana. All the promises made to the people during the election campaign will be implemented. Due to inefficient regulations, the income of AP people has fallen from 13.2 per cent to 9.5 per cent. Inflation has increased unimaginably. We are aiming for a growth rate of 15 per cent,” he added.

The Prime Minister said the government is very keen to achieve the goal of zero poverty. Efforts are being made to attract investments to the state, which would also create more jobs, he said.
