New Release Overview (August 15, 2024)

Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column, we aim to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released this week. Please note that we are not currently including Early Access releases where the game is still in development.


Bow

Bow is set in the magical realism-inspired world of Arco. It features multiple campaigns and follows four characters on a quest for revenge after they are all targeted by an emerging corporate mafia, the Red Company gang. The game is billed as a tactical action RPG with a concurrent turn-based combat system.


Castaway

Castaway is a top-down pixel-art adventure title. The game follows Martin, who crashes his spaceship on an uncharted island, only to have his pet taken by hostile creatures. Martin sets out on a mission to rescue his companion. Once players complete the game’s Story Mode, they’ll unlock Survivor Mode, where they attempt to climb a 50-story tower of increasingly challenging terrain.


Elrentaros walks

Action RPG Elrentaros walks was released in Japan as Behind Sekai. In the game, players control a male or female protagonist, who visits the city of Elrentaros in the fantasy world of Melvania and sets out on an adventure to help the townspeople. During the adventure, however, they wake up in a different modern world. Players must unravel the secrets behind the two worlds. A PC version is scheduled for release on August 22, 2024.


Kena: Bridge of Spirits

Adventure title Kena: Bridge of Spirits Set in a fantasy world, players control Kena, a young Spirit Guide investigating the downfall of her village. She is accompanied by a team of spirit companions called the Rot, who can manipulate the environment. SunnySide

Farm simulation SunnySide combines farming sim, social sim, combat and exploration elements. Players start with a plot of land in an outdated Japanese rural village. They develop their farm, using new technologies to grow crops and care for livestock, while getting involved in the community and developing relationships with others.
