HiFi electronics enhance Mafunyeta Memorial Show with technical equipment

Lilongwe-based electronics store ‘HiFi Electronics’ has provided technical equipment for the Mafunyeta Memorial show taking place on Sunday at the National War Memorial Tower Road in Lilongwe.

The company made the announcement at its Lilongwe office on Thursday.

The memorial show, which honors the legacy of reggae-dancehall artist Patrick Magalasi (Mafunyeta), aims to raise awareness about mental and reproductive health and technology among youth and young adults.

Hifi says the sponsorship will enhance the production quality of the event and provide state-of-the-art equipment for sound, stage, backline, barriers and lighting.

Blessed Adam, Director of Events at HiFi Events, says they feel honored to support the show, emphasizing that it is an essential platform for artistic expression.

“Mafunyeta was part of our company and we acknowledge his legacy. Our contribution is to ensure that the event resonates strongly with those who attend,” says Adam.

The show’s chairman, Yanja Chigamba, is excited about the sponsorship by HiFi Electronics.

“This is a huge boost for us and we are very happy about it,” said Chigamba.

The event, now in its seventh year and themed “Let’s Talk About”, will focus on raising awareness around mental health and will feature performances from Malinga Mafia, Kellie Devine, Jay Jay C and Lulu.

Mafunyeta, real name Patrick Magalasi, died on August 13, 2013 from asthma.

He is still remembered for songs like ‘Ndimakondwa’, ”Kangobwera’ and ‘Mkazi wati Chani’
