Louisville man sentenced to intensive supervision, work release for sex offender in 2022 case

A Louisville man has been sentenced to eight years of intensive supervised probation for sex offenders after pleading guilty in May to a 2022 child sexual exploitation case.

Brian Woods, 36, pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation of a child – video; and third-degree criminal trespassing in May. All other charges were dropped as part of the plea.

He appeared in court Friday out of custody and was also sentenced to three months of work release and nine months of electronic monitoring, in addition to intensive sex offender supervision. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.

A booking photo was not immediately available.

The Colorado Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received information about the distribution or possession of child pornography via a social messaging app from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, according to a press release.

Louisville police, with assistance from the Boulder County Digital Forensics Lab, executed a search warrant at Woods’ residence in the 1000 block of Century Drive on June 22, 2022, where they found additional evidence. Detectives filed an arrest warrant for Woods. He turned himself in to the Denver Detention Center but was later released on a $50,000 personal bond.

The Louisville Police Department, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office, the Boulder Police Department and the Longmont Department of Public Safety all cooperated in the investigation.
