Verplanck is a hamlet in the town of Cortlandt with a population of approximately 800 people. It borders the Hudson River, the village of Buchanan, and the hamlet of Montrose.

The Hudson River crossing from Verplanck to Stony Point played a significant role in the American Revolutionary War. Historical markers and plaques can be seen along the waterfront.
