Part 1: Anthony Arillotta on Genovese Springfield Faction That Has a Female Boss, Shot 20 Times

——–

Anthony Arillotta discussed his survival despite cooperating with authorities against the mob while continuing to live in Springfield. He highlighted the misconception of mob retribution, noting that organized crime does not operate like street gangs. Arillotta emphasized the complications and risks associated with modern-day assassinations due to extensive surveillance and the high probability of being caught. Arillotta, a former mob boss, pointed out that assassinations would attract a lot of police attention, deterring mob bosses from ordering assassinations. With today’s technology, it is nearly impossible to evade capture after a murder. Arillotta reflected on the current state of organized crime, estimating that 98% of mob members are informants, diluting traditional mob codes. He also announced his upcoming book, “Southend Syndicate: How it Took Over the Genovese Springfield Crew,” due out September 17. The book aims to shed light on Mafia activities in western Massachusetts and Connecticut, regions often overlooked in Mafia lore.
