Man Arrested for Distributing Child Pornography in Michigan

ALGONAC, MI — The Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, announces the arrest of Andrew Michael Arnold, 31, of Algonac, on charges of possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material and using a computer to commit a crime, according to an MSP news release.

Arnold was arrested following an investigation that included the seizure of digital evidence from his home. The investigation was launched after Arnold was found to be viewing child sexual abuse files on the internet.

Arnold was charged with three counts of possession of child sexually abusive material, one count of distribution of child sexually abusive material and four counts of using a computer to commit a crime.

He was brought before the court of first instance on Friday, August 16.

The MSP Computer Crimes Unit encourages parents to talk to their children about using the internet safely.
