One game you can check out on Xbox Game Pass right now is Mafia: Definitive Editiona remake of the original 2002 PC classic. This remake features stunning new visuals, a newly recorded voice cast, soundtrack, missions, gameplay improvements and much more.

“Remade from the ground up, rise through the ranks of the Mafia during the Prohibition era of organized crime. After a run-in with the mob, cab driver Tommy Angelo is thrust into a deadly underworld. Initially uneasy about his influx into the Salieri crime family, Tommy soon discovers the rewards are too great to ignore,” the remake’s description reads.

Mafia: Definitive Edition scored a decent but respectable 78 on the general website Metacritic, but in my opinion it’s a game that deserves a mid to high 80s, as evidenced by these reviews.

“Hangar 13 has retouched every aspect of the original Mafiaexpanding the story, refining the gameplay, and wrapping it in an absolutely phenomenal new look and sound, taking it to a whole new and modern level. It’s good to be part of the family again,” GamingTrend wrote.

“All this time the first Mafia was the best of the trio. It took Hangar 13 a phenomenal effort to do it justice with Mafia: Definitive Edition“, said Destructoid. “This feels like the rare, necessary remake that elevates and expands upon the original. It’s truly an offer you can’t refuse.”

Mafia: Definitive Edition is available now for PC, PlayStation and Xbox and is of course also available for free for Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
