Crime in SA | Protection mafia hampers business across the country

JOHANNESBURG- The authorities have declared war on the construction mafia, but now the so-called ‘water tanker mafia’ has also joined the fight.

Since then, a collective name has been coined for the ‘protection mafia’.

Businesses operating in major cities now have to pay a higher price to these gangsters to keep their doors open.

It is known that the secret criminal organizations often have ties to local business forums.
