Trump is a comedian at best, but at his worst he is a danger to America

Trump and comedian Lenny Bruce look a lot alike

In the early to mid 1950s, Leonard Alfred Schneider, better known as Lenny Bruce, rose to fame in the stand-up comedy world, becoming the most famous comedian in the country.

By the early 1960s, Bruce, who had been arrested on a variety of charges including theft, fraud and obscenity, became so obsessed with his legal problems that his performances often included tirades about them, along with diatribes against fascism and complaints about being denied his First Amendment rights to free speech. Consumed by his grievances and sense of persecution, Bruce’s career collapsed.

Is Donald Trump the Lenny Bruce of American politics?

Counterpoint: Tennessee supports Donald Trump. The rest of America should do the same and elect him president.

How is it possible that “MAGA people” don’t see Trump’s mistakes?

Re: “MAGA people care about freedom. That’s why we vote for Trump, not Kamala Harris,” letters,

MAGA Republicans: I just don’t get it. Donald Trump’s presidency has proven him to be the most unfit candidate in history, and yet you’re willing to vote for him again. Doesn’t character count?

He is mentally unstable and you don’t care. He is a pathological liar and yet you believe every word he says without checking his statements.

He is a convicted felon and you don’t care. He is a convicted sexual abuser, an adulterer and a misogynist and you don’t care. He is completely self-centered, narcissistic and emotionally insecure and you don’t care. He degrades women, demeans minorities and attacks anyone who opposes him. He has called for the end of the Constitution.

He refuses to accept his defeat in the last presidential election, despite the fact that there is no credible evidence of fraud. The courts have rejected every case brought before them. He has openly declared his intention to become a dictator. Does that not matter to you?

The Republican Party plans to deport millions of immigrants and restrict the rights of women and members of the LGBTQ community. Both actions are immoral and unethical. They go against the core tenet of Christianity: love thy neighbor.

How can you not care?

Donald Trump is only running for president to avoid prison. He constantly lashes out at this country. Do you really believe he wants to help anyone but himself? He is fundamentally sick. He has no moral compass. He is evil. And yet you just don’t care. I believe character matters. Why don’t you?

GOP Immigration Policies Put America at Risk

Some people have a confused and narrow view of immigration. Even though we need borders, when a bipartisan immigration bill came along, Trump told his followers not to vote for it. Trump was afraid that Biden would look good if the bill passed.

Harris is said to have been appointed by Biden as “Border Czar.” No, she has been appointed to investigate the reasons for immigration; this would focus on the corruption and criminality in the immigrants’ native countries, which in effect forced them to seek the safety of the United States.

Trump keeps saying that immigrants are all violent criminals and illegal drug importers. But FBI and local police records show a lower crime rate among immigrants than the rest of the US. Illegal drugs usually come in via planes, trucks and narco submarines. Drug cartels don’t want people walking hundreds of miles with expensive illegal drugs.

Then there is the myth that immigrants are going to take all our jobs. But how many Native Americans want to work in agriculture or any of the unwanted jobs that immigrants accept?

If we excluded most immigrants, our economy would be in bad shape, because we could not function without their labor. Of course, their children could become doctors or lawyers, which could cause fear in some citizens.

What will happen if Trump loses? What do traditional Republicans do? Will they finally speak up?

Trump is in dire need of lessons in American history

It was only a little disconcerting to hear during Donald Trump’s press conference on August 15 that the worst day in the history of the United States of America was in 2021, when 13 Marines and 170 Afghan civilians were killed in a horrific act of war.

My mind immediately turned to the White House fire during the War of 1812 and the South firing on Fort Sumter in 1861. It didn’t take long for me to think of Pearl Harbor and 9/11, not to mention Gettysburg, the Marine Corps barracks in Beirut, or the Oklahoma City bombings.

I only had to think about it for a moment and I remembered the Chicago fire, the San Francisco earthquake, the Galveston hurricane, and Hurricane Katrina.

Custer’s Last Stand wasn’t even in my top 10.

Who is this man who twists and rejects the entire history of the United States of America to satisfy his petty, narrow-minded ego?
