Kangana Ranaut calls Bollywood people stupid and dumb, says ‘They are like locusts’; here’s why

Kangana Ranaut has been in the film industry for almost two decades and has seen many ups and downs in her career, working with top filmmakers and actors. Despite her long association with Bollywood, her relationship with the industry has become strained over time. Kangana has often criticized nepotism and alleged that there is an alleged Bollywood mafia that tries to sabotage her career. In a recent interview with Raj Shamani on his podcast, Kangana Ranaut criticized Bollywood celebrities and partying. The Queen actress described Bollywood celebrities as “full of themselves, stupid, grasshoppers, idiots and totally blank.” Kangana also called them dumb and stupid. She explained that she cannot be friends with people from the industry as she feels they are too self-centered and do not have meaningful conversations. According to Ranaut, celebrities in the Hindi film industry are unaware of what is happening around them and their conversations are superficial. The Tanu Weds Manu Returns actress was further asked if the entire film industry is like this. In response, Kangana Ranaut said, “Everyone is like this.” Kangana said that she has seen enough of Bollywood to give her verdict. The Rangoon actress also revealed that when Bollywood actors are not working, their daily routine usually involves waking up, doing physical workouts, sleeping in the afternoon, going to the gym and sleeping or watching TV in the evening. According to Kangana Ranaut, these Bollywood parties are a “trauma” for her. The actress imitated how celebrities discuss topics like designer bags, cars, diets, relationships and breakups at these parties. The actress finds it embarrassing and said that she would be surprised if they talked about other topics than these superficial ones.

On the work front, Kangana Ranaut recently launched the trailer for her upcoming film Emergency. She portrays Indira Gandhi in the political drama. Ranaut has directed the film herself, which also stars Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade and Mahima Chaudhry. The film is expected to hit theatres on September 6, 2024.
