Bills Mafia Babes Raise Money for Mental Health in WNY

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Just one day after the Buffalo Bills defeated the Steelers 9-3 in week two of the preseason, sweeties came together in the name of charity.

The Bills Mafia Babes is a nonprofit organization that uses Facebook to connect the women of the Bills Mafia. Last year, the group began hosting what would become an annual meetup in cities across the country.

“There’s relationships built, there’s education about soccer — everything,” said Suzanne Halberstadt, coordinator of the Rochester chapter.

On Sunday, the women’s group convened again. This year, the Rochester chapter went to Tin Cup Social in Fairport. The organization uses the event as a way to support charity.

“This month we are supporting BestSelf Behavioral Health, which recently partnered with the Buffalo Bills,” said Jeanna Ross, coordinator of the Rochester chapter.

During Sunday’s event, attendees were treated to a live DJ spinning music and hosting trivia games while people enjoyed food and drinks. Raffles were also available.

“Our lottery teams worked hard and M&T Bank gave us a nice signed Dawson Knox shirt,” said Bills Mafia Babes member Suzanna Prong.

According to the organizers, the group as a whole has brought together many women with similar interests.

“Some of us — our husbands, boyfriends, partners — are not football fans,” Ross explained. “So, it’s a great place to find people who love to do the things that we love to do during football season.”

At last year’s National Meet and Greet Day, they said the group raised more than $9,000 to donate to Dion’s Dreamers, the official foundation of Bills star Dion Dawkins.
