Bollywood actor Akshay Oberoi makes his debut in South Indian cinema with the Kannada film Toxicwhere he will star opposite superstar Yash.

After a remarkable year that began with his role in FighterAkshay Oberoi now joins the cast of this much-awaited film.

Known for his roles in OTT series such as Illegal jurisdiction is out of action (2020) and Meat (2020), Akshay Oberoi has confirmed his debut in South Indian cinema with the Kannada film ToxicHe also shared a picture on social media from the sets of the film, where he was warmly welcomed by the team, leading to excitement among fans and industry insiders.

Akshay Oberoi recently traveled to Bengaluru to begin filming Toxicone of the most anticipated releases of the year. The film is being produced on a large scale.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, known for the critically acclaimed Malayalam film Moothon (2019) and her debut Liars Dice (2013), Toxic is a multilingual action thriller.

It was announced in December 2023 and is jointly produced by Venkat K Narayana’s KVN Productions and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.

Scheduled for release on April 10, 2025, Toxic promises to be an action packed drama focusing on the drug mafia. And this is Yash’s 19th film.

Considering his success on OTT with numerous hit series, Akshay Oberoi probably has high standards while selecting his projects.

According to Akshay Oberoi, the real measure of success is whether people actively talk about it and praise it.

“The true measure of success is reflected in public opinion. The impact of a film is not just determined by the size of its release or the box office revenue, but also by the buzz it generates. If a project earns well but is not received positively, it will not create a strong buzz. OTT platforms offer a more authentic measure of success as viewers choose to watch based on interest rather than heavy promotion,” he was quoted in an interview.

While filming an important program of Toxic In Bengaluru, Akshay Oberoi is also involved in another project, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumariwhere he stars alongside Varun Dhawan.
