Kamala Harris is the architect of the ‘America Last’ border policy

Now that Kamala Harris has become the Democratic presidential nominee, she and her campaign are desperately trying to convince the American people that the policies of a Harris-Walz administration will look dramatically different from the failures of the current administration.

Take the border crisis of the Biden-Harris administration’s own making. Candidate Harris recently claimed at a campaign rally that, if elected, she would fight for “strong border security.” This tough talk is a veneer that crumbles under scrutiny.

For three and a half years, Vice President Harris has served as the administration’s “border czar.” Under her leadership, this is the first administration in our nation’s history to actively take steps to undermine border security. The American people should not be misled by harsh rhetoric on the campaign trail. Instead, the track record of the past few years foreshadows what we can expect when Harris enters the White House.

Here’s a reminder of some of the most radical border measures Harris has devised, hurting the American people and benefiting Mexican drug cartels and human traffickers.

KAMALA HARRIS WAS OUR FRONTIER. IN TEXAS WE SEE WHAT THAT MEANS

On Day One, the Biden-Harris administration created this historic humanitarian-security crisis through a series of deliberate policy decisions, including ending the Trump administration’s successful Remain in Mexico policy; imposing a 100-day deportation freeze on all illegal aliens, including criminals; and implementing a nationwide catch-and-release policy that guaranteed illegal aliens would be allowed into American communities.

In total, the Biden-Harris administration has taken 94 executive actions in its first 100 days to dismantle the Trump administration’s tried-and-true America First policy.

An unprecedented wave of illegal immigration followed. More than 10 million illegal aliens have been found to have entered the country illegally, plus nearly 2 million known “gotaways,” who evaded Border Patrol agents and disappeared into American communities.

Recent claims by the Biden-Harris administration that their policies are working and that illegal immigration is lower than when President Trump left office are blatantly disingenuous. Since March 2021, more illegal aliens have entered our country every month than the worst month of the Trump administration.

Now the Biden-Harris administration is attempting to obscure the scale of illegal immigration by sending illegal aliens to border crossings, falsely calling it a “legal route.” It is also airlifting more than 500,000 illegal aliens from Cuba, Haiti, Venezuela and Nicaragua directly into their preferred American communities, again abusing parole powers.

The inhumanity of this open borders policy cannot be overstated.

KAMALA HARRIS AND THE CRISIS ON THE SOUTHERN BORDER: A TIMELINE

More than 500,000 vulnerable unaccompanied foreign children have been smuggled into the country under the watch of Border Czar Harris. The government has lost track of at least 85,000 of them after they were released to unsupervised adults and has provided no updates since The New York Times first exposed the failure in 2023.

Innocent Americans like Laken Riley, Rachel Morin, and Jocelyn Nungaray were brutally murdered by illegal aliens allowed into American communities by the Biden-Harris policies. And an unknown number of migrant women were raped and assaulted as they journeyed to the U.S.-Mexico border.

Expect more of the same if Kamala Harris wins in November. Her recent public remarks have included reiterating support for the Senate’s flawed immigration bill that faced bipartisan opposition and calling for mass amnesty.

Harris opposes H.R. 2, the strongest border security bill ever introduced, which the House of Representatives passed more than a year ago, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., has refused to bring it to the floor. She even argued that illegal immigration is not a violation of the law.

When I led the Department of Homeland Security during the Trump administration, I listened to Border Patrol and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents and empowered them to do their lawful work. Harris knowingly smeared the Border Patrol agents involved in the whipping hoax and supports the abolition of ICE.

True leadership involves supporting your law enforcement officers, not berating them to score political points with the far left.

For three and a half years, Vice President Harris and others in the administration refused to use existing powers to secure the border. It took an election year for the administration to even acknowledge that the border situation was a crisis — a fact that the American people had known for some time.

Actions speak louder than words. The American people must remember that Kamala Harris is the architect of America Last’s border policy, a policy that has overstretched our schools, hospitals, and resources, and made our communities more dangerous.
