MLA, politicians attend ‘Lady Don’ Gulshan Patel’s birthday party in Kashimira

Mira Bhayandar: That politicians stoop to very low levels for electoral gains is nothing new in any city. However, local leaders (who owe their loyalty mainly to the ruling government), including the former and sitting legislator from Mira-Bhayandar, were caught on camera celebrating the birthday party of one Gulshan Taase -Patel alias Aapa – also known as Lady Don, who has a series of offences including confiscating property, trespassing, assault and kidnapping registered with local police stations.

Gulshan, who belongs to the Patel clan, which is increasingly accumulating criminal records, threw a party at Kashimira to celebrate her 50th birthday.

The guests from the political fraternity who registered their presence in the party included BJP leader and former MLA Narendra Mehta, sitting legislator Geeta Jain, an Independent who has lent her support to the Maha Yuti (MY) government, local functionaries from the Shiv Sena (Shinde camp) and NCP (Ajit Pawar camp).

The Patel siblings – five brothers and a sister-Gulshan Aapa used to run a thriving syndicate in the Mira Road-Kashimira belt in true mafia style. While two brothers were murdered by rival gangs, one died of disease. With nearly 200 offences registered against them, the Patel clan has earned a place in the rogues’ gallery of the police.

Most of the cases are related to rioting, assault, attempted murder, extortion and illegal possession of arms. Of late, the Patels have been using the ‘shield’ of prominent office bearers of various political parties to continue their illegal activities. Their political stamp has also deterred people from filing new complaints. The presence of prominent politicians in Lady Don’s party apparently helps them to make their real mission successful.
