Jamshedpur, August 19: A case has been registered against the Mango police station responsible for arresting a man who had filed a complaint about land mafia trying to seize his property. The victim’s brother, Md Feroz Qureshi, a resident of Jawaharnagar Road No. 12, Mango, submitted a memorandum to the City SP, accusing the Mango police of jailing his brother, Ahmed Qureshi, after he reported the land mafia threats.

According to Feroz, a group of land mafia members including Md Umar, Qamar Khan and Zubair Malik along with 10-15 others arrived at their house on Sunday night and started uttering threats including threats to shoot them. Ahmed Qureshi immediately informed the Mango police station over the phone but no action was taken at that time. However, an hour later at around 11:45 pm, the Mango police arrived at their house and took Ahmed Qureshi to the station where he was locked up.

Feroz stated that when they reached the police station to inquire about the situation, the police refused to listen to them. The family has now requested the SP to take action against the said land mafias and provide security to their family.
