Women’s U20 World Cup: Yusif Basigi announces final princess selection

Black Princesses coach Yussif Basigi has announced his final squad for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, to be held in Colombia.

The selected team includes Jenna Kayla Sarpong, a goalkeeper for Auburn University, and defender Alexandra Emefa Tay, who plays for Seattle United ECNL. Midfielder Stella Nyamekye returns to the squad after recovering from an injury that kept her out of the African Games in March.

The attacking line is led by Mafia Nyame of AS FAR, alongside Salamatu Abdulai and Mary Amponsah of Ampem Darkoa Ladies.

The tournament will take place from August 31 to September 22, 2024. Ghana has been drawn in Group E with Japan, Austria and New Zealand.
