Floyd man sentenced to 50 years in prison for filming sexual abuse of 4-year-old

PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Floyd County man has been sentenced to half a century in prison after being convicted of child pornography.

Christopher Hall, 26, of Grethel, pleaded guilty in April to charges of producing and distributing child pornography.

In his guilty plea, he admitted to filming himself sexually abusing a 4-year-old girl and then sending the video to others via the WhatsApp messaging service. He faced a possible sentence of between 15 years and life in prison.

Last week, a judge sentenced him in court to 30 years in prison for the production charge and 20 years for the distribution charge. Those sentences will be served consecutively, for a total of 50 years in prison.

Hall was arrested immediately after his conviction.
