Fargo Public School Alumni Eric D. Larson Shares New Book During Free Event – InForum

FARGO — A Fargo Public Schools alumnus gives a talk at the local library.

Eric D. Larson will give a presentation on his novel, “Grounding Global Justice: Race, Class, and Grassroots Globalism in the United States and Mexico,” according to a press release from the Fargo Public Library.

Readers are welcome to attend the free event on Thursday, August 22 at 6:30pm at the main library branch in the city centre.

Larson’s book offers a transnational history of the global justice movement in the United States and Mexico, showing how peasants, urban workers, and indigenous peoples based their efforts to resist free-market reforms on the frontlines of struggles for economic and racial justice,” the press release said.

During the event, visitors can purchase books and Larson will sign each copy.

“Eric D. Larson is an associate professor of crime and justice studies and chair of the department of crime and justice studies at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. He received his doctorate in American studies from Brown University in 2011 and is a proud graduate of Fargo North High School,” the press release said.

Our newsroom occasionally reports on stories under the name “staff.” Often, the name “staff” is used when rewriting basic newsletters that come from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and require little or no reporting. Sometimes this name is used when a news story has multiple authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from several sources. If outside sources are used, this is noted in the story.
