Thilakan’s daughter Sonia Thilakan speaks out about the Hema committee report, claims negative experiences and problems in the sector

Actor Thilakan’s daughter Sonia Thilakan has reacted to the Hema Committee report and reaffirmed the issues her father had raised in 2010 regarding the Malayalam film industry. She stated that her father faced numerous challenges when he spoke out against the ‘mafia’ that existed in the industry, which led to his silencing.

Sonia alleged that a group of people formed AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists) to retain power and that silencing her father was part of their agenda. She alleged that the Hema committee report mentions a group of 15 members but she will reveal names only after the committee decides to do so.

Moreover, Sonia revealed that she had a negative experience with a leading actor who approached her under the pretext of wanting to resolve the issue with her father. She understood his true intentions when she saw the messages he sent her.

Sonia expressed her joy that the Hema Commission report had long since vindicated her father’s views on the industry. However, she criticized Siddique, the Secretary General of AMMA, for not giving a proper response to the report. She said that an organization that had quickly dismissed her father is unable to respond or take action based on the report, which exposes their hypocrisy.
