Pakistan’s Interior Minister Calls for Better Cooperation with the Netherlands

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani Minister of Interior Mohsin Naqvi has stressed the need to improve bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and the Netherlands in various areas, particularly to combat human trafficking.

He spoke with the Dutch ambassador to Pakistan, Henny de Vries, who visited him in Islamabad on Tuesday.

The Interior Minister said that Pakistan values ​​its ties with the Netherlands and is keen to expand relations in various sectors. He called the human traffickers a big mafia and called for joint efforts to tackle this horrific problem.

They also exchanged views on the upcoming visit of the Dutch cricket team to Pakistan, aimed at promoting these joint efforts. The two sides emphasized on strengthening ties in cricket.

On Afghan refugees, the interior minister said that Pakistan has been hosting them for decades. The two sides agreed to enhance cooperation between Pakistan and the Netherlands for the welfare of Afghan refugees.

Ambassador Henny de Vries congratulated Mohsin Naqvi on his nomination as Chairman of the Asian Cricket Council and stressed the importance of sports diplomacy.

Mohsin Naqvi also congratulated the ambassador during the meeting on the formation of the new Dutch government.
