Telangana Police committed to people’s welfare: DGP

KARIMNAGAR:The entire police system is working hard to maintain law and order and promote the welfare of the people, the Director General of State Police said.

The DGP was speaking at a review meeting with police top brass of Karimnagar, Sircilla and Jagtial districts on Tuesday.

Jitendar said the police were taking perfect measures to regulate traffic. “Telangana police are at the top of the country in keeping a close watch on illegal transportation of sand and ganja, checking cybercrime and controlling the activities of drug and land mafia through strict vigilance. It is also preventing road accidents,” he said.

The police are taking several steps to raise awareness among the public against drunk driving and to catch vehicles without license plates, he said.

The DGP said, “Very soon the problem of shortage of personnel in the police will be solved with police recruitment and some recruits are already undergoing training. The DSPs and inspectors in their respective circles should take strict action against the rowdy and history-makers by constantly observing their movements.”

Jitender said, “Cases should be investigated and solved with a scientific approach. We should provide perfect evidence. When cases are tried, the DSPs should also go to court and ensure that the main culprits are punished.”

Multi-zone-1 IGP Chandrasekhar Reddy, Karimnagar police chief Abhishek Mohanty, SPs of Sircilla Akhil Mahajan, Jagtial Ashok Kumar and ASPs, DSPs and inspectors were present.
