The Heritage Foundation outlined a dangerous plan as Trump becomes president again.

Project 2025, a 920-page policy document created by the conservative Heritage Foundation, outlines a far-right Christian agenda for Donald Trumps second presidential term if he wins the November election. The plan would dismantle educational opportunities for Black people, attack LGBTQ+ protections, cut Medicare and end “anti-white racism,” among other things.

Here are a few reasons why black people should be afraid of Project 2025.

Thousands of government workers laid off

The Biden-Harris administration has the most diverse workforce in this country’s history, with 50 percent of current employees describing themselves as racially or ethnically diverse. Project 2025 would eliminate job protections for those government workers who could be replaced by political appointees — filling the White House with white MAGA supporters.

At the Treasury Department, the document states that the next administration “must treat participation in any critical race theory or DEI initiative, without objection on constitutional or moral grounds, as per se grounds for termination.”

Getting off the abortion pill

The Project 2025 blueprint calls for the Food and Drug Administration to reverse its 24-year-old approval of the widely used abortion pill mifepristone and for the Justice Department to enforce the Comstock Act against abortion pill providers and distributors — all of which would disproportionately affect Black women, who have the highest rate of maternal deaths during childbirth.

Abolishing ‘WOKE propaganda’

The blueprint emphasizes that the Trump The administration will take a stand against “woke propaganda,” including banning a long list of terms from all federal laws and regulations, including “sexual orientation,” “gender equality,” “DEI,” “gender equity,” “abortion,” and “reproductive rights.”

The Erosion of LGBTQ+ Rights

Project 2025 plans to dismantle transgender rights and same-sex couples. It says children should be raised by their “biological” fathers and mothers, as the “male-female dyad is essential to human nature.” The blueprint also equates the act of being transgender, or “transgender ideology,” with pornography and says it should be banned.

Getting rid of loan forgiveness

Project 2025 calls for an end to the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. Currently, the program provides student loan relief to borrowers who work for federal, state, local, or tribal governments, as well as nonprofit organizations.

Attack on Critical Race Theory

The blueprint’s creators believe that teaching Critical Race Theory in schools would make white students feel bad. According to Project 2025, they “would not require students or teachers to believe that individuals are guilty or responsible for the actions of others based on race or ethnicity.”

Restriction of education for black students

In addition to the racist practice of “school choice,” which would widen the educational gap between black and white students, it would reward those who send their children to disproportionately Christian and white private schools. Project 2025 also wants to eliminate Head Start, a federal program that provides educational readiness for qualified children during their first five years.

Weakening of Black-owned businesses

The Biden-Harris administration has provided funding to black businesses. Project 2025, however, would eliminate programs designed to help them. In addition to eliminating a program that would protect black businesses from discrimination, it plans to transform the Minority Business Development Agency into something that focuses on “the benefits of free markets, the ills of socialism and communism, and the destructive effects of taxes and regulations on minority businesses.”

Finishing the wall

The Project 2025 agenda recommends completing the project Trumps wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. It also encourages the next administration to take “a creative and aggressive approach” to dealing with drug cartels at the border. The blueprint calls for active-duty military and National Guard personnel to make arrests at the southern border.

Reducing Black Homeownership

Black homeownership has always been low, but Project 2025 would end programs designed to increase it and end “other uses of special lending authorities to increase equity.” Rent control programs would also be ended.

Defunding the Liberal Media

Project 2025 aims to defund Public Broadcast System (PBS), National Public Radio (NPR), and subsidies for media entities with “largely liberal” audiences.

Removing racial data

The blueprint urges the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) to stop collecting employment data based on race and ethnicity. The document argues that it “could then be used to support a claim of discrimination under a theory of disparate impact” that “could lead to racial quotas.” They want to stop this type of data collection from both public and private employers.

Inflation Reduction Act

Project 2025 wants to get rid of the Inflation Reduction Act, which Biden would have generated about 10 million climate-friendly jobs over the next decade. The agenda also calls for banning greenhouse gas regulations and clean energy programs. Low-income black people are disproportionately exposed to pollution and die from it at higher rates.

Dismantling the Department of Homeland Security

Under Project 2025, several offices would be eliminated from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which would close the nation’s largest school for federal, state, local and tribal law enforcement officers. The Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) would also be eliminated from DHS, which was created to protect the United States after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

Getting off Medicare/Social Security

Project 2025 will implement the ‘health policies established under the Obama And Biden Administrations like the Medicare Shared Savings Program and the Inflation Reduction Act.” These key policies help millions of Americans afford health insurance and prescription drugs. The plan would also cut Medicaid funding in half.
