2K surprised fans at the end of Gamescom’s Opening Night Live by revealing the following details: Mafia: The Old Country trailera new installment in the popular action-adventure series.

What happens in the trailer for Mafia: The Old Country?

The trailer doesn’t show much about the game, but it does hint at the fact that it’s set in Italy. In the trailer, we’re given some cryptic dialogue before we’re shown the setting of 1900s Sicily, where the game is set.

“Discover the origins of organized crime in Mafia: The Old Country, a gritty mafia story set in the brutal underworld of 1900s Sicily,” the game’s description reads.

The Mafia series began in 2002 with the release of the original game and has had a lot of games throughout its history. In the main series, the most recent game was Mafia III from 2016. However, a remake of the original game, called the “Definitive Edition”, was released in 2020. Several story expansions have also been released in the series.

Each Mafia game takes place in various fictional locations modeled after real American cities, and is usually set in the past. In the games, players often become involved with the mafia in some way, either by trying to rise up the ranks or taking down the mafia altogether.
