KANOSHA, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — Public safety was front and center as Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance held a press conference in Kenosha on Tuesday.

According to Vance, there are many problems regarding law enforcement recruitment in the country and also in the state of Wisconsin.

“A lot of our police departments are underfunded and under-resourced. We don’t have enough officers to do our jobs and protect ourselves,” Vance said. “And then we have Mexican drug cartels operating all the way into Kenosha, Wisconsin.”

Just hours before a meeting in Milwaukee with Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Vance said the media should question the Democratic nominee.
