Pakistan and the Netherlands agree to combat human trafficking

ISLAMABAD – Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met the Ambassador of the Netherlands Henny de Vries at the Ministry of Interior on Tuesday. During the meeting, bilateral cooperation and issues of mutual interest were discussed, including enhancing cooperation in various sectors. Both countries stressed the need to enhance mutual cooperation to prevent human trafficking. “Pakistan values ​​its relations with the Netherlands and is keen to expand ties in various sectors,” the minister said. He congratulated the new government and his counterpart in the Netherlands for assuming office. Naqvi said that human trafficking is a mafia and no country can tackle it alone. He stressed that joint efforts are essential to combat human trafficking effectively. He stressed that an Italian team would visit Pakistan soon in this regard. Both sides also agreed to enhance cooperation for the welfare of Afghan refugees. The Interior Minister stated that Pakistan has been hosting Afghan refugees for decades. The meeting also agreed to enhance cricket ties between the two countries. Naqvi said that a plan was being prepared to promote cricket relations with the Netherlands. Ambassador Henny de Vries congratulated Naqvi on his nomination as the chairman of the Asian Cricket Council. She said that promoting cooperation in various sectors, including sports, was of great importance. She added that improving cooperation in cricket would give the Dutch team the opportunity to learn from the experiences of Pakistan.
