Indiana Jones and the Great Circle release date set for December

Following the unveiling earlier this year, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle now has a release date – and it’s no longer an Xbox exclusive.

The highly anticipated game was revealed last night in a new Gamescom trailer and is set to release on PC and Xbox consoles on December 9, 2024. But that’s not all: the game is also coming to PS5.

It’s a change of tactics from Microsoft, the company that owns Bethesda, the publisher behind Indy’s upcoming game. Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer previously threw cold water on claims that Indiana Jones would give up its status as an Xbox console exclusive.

Now, as confirmed in the latest developer update, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will launch on PS5 at a yet-to-be-confirmed date in 2025. That means PC and Xbox players will get the chance to play the game first, and it’s expected to help boost sales of Game Pass subscriptions for Microsoft.

Post-launch DLC has also been confirmed, adding additional story content to the game. Not much else is known at this time; “more details coming soon” is the official word from the development team.

It will be one of the biggest game launches of the year, alongside Ubisoft’s. Star Wars BanditsMany more big announcements were made during Gamescom’s opening night, several of which are set to release in 2025.

Looter shooter Borderlands 4 is one of them, besides Mafia: The Old Country – the latest addition to the long-running crime series – and strategy giant Civilization VII launch on February 11, 2025.

Gamescom is one of the few major gaming shows left, so expect to hear much more about the event in the coming days.
