WWE NXT Taping Results – Spoilers for August 27, 2024

NXT Spoilers for 08-27-24

Match 1) Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley and Jacy Jayne) w/ Jazmyn Nyx defeated Meta Four (Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend.) During the match Jakara did a dive to the outside and Fallon’s nose was covered in blood from the dive and she needed a towel to clean it. They continued the match with interference from Jazmyn allowing Fallon and Jacy to perform a double team move to take down Lash for the pin.

Match 2) Karmen Petrovic defeated Izzi Dame with a roll-up.

Match 3) The Family (Channing Lorenzo, Luca Crusifino and Adrianna Rizzo) w/Tony D’Angelo defeated No Quarter Catch Crew (Charlie Dempsey, Myles Borne and Wren Sinclair.) During the match two mob men came to ringside to talk to Tony and Tony went with them to the back. Luca pinned Borne with a shatter machine.

There was a promo with Wes Lee and Zachary Wentz with some referees and security in the ring talking about their upcoming match at No Mercy. Wes repeatedly told Wentz that Wentz is not on his level. Wentz reminded Wes of how Wes almost quit NXT three times when Wentz and Miguel came out the last time. He also mentioned that he was there for Wes after Wes’ back injury. He was happy for Wes’ singles success. The promo got even more heated when Wentz talked about how he and Trey won the TNA tag titles together, something Wes and Zach never did. Zach gave a fiery promo about how he now plans to make sure Wes doesn’t have any more success in WWE while Wes plans to send him back to TNA. No breaking up and they were kept apart

Kelani Jordan came to the ring to confront Wendy Choo, while Kelani didn’t want to wait until Sunday. Wendy appeared on the screen and sent a hooded figure to the ring to fight Kelani. It turned out to be Rosemary from TNA. Rosemary didn’t have her traditional “Left Behind” TNA theme.

Match 4) In a non-title match, Kelani defeated Jordan Rosemary via split legged moonsault. After the match, Wendy Choo came back on the screen with the lights off. Kelani’s video screen could be seen going black while Wendy’s face was seen on several other video screens. Wendy entered the ring when the lights came back on and placed Kelani in a sleeper hold. Rosemary pushed the NXT North American Women’s title to Wendy who retained it. Rosemary and Wendy left together.

Match 5) Brooks Jensen defeated Malik Blade after an elbow drop from the top rope.

Match 6) Joe Coffey w/ Mark Coffey w/ Wolfgang defeated Je’Von Evans. Wolfgang and Mark interfered near the end of the match with Je’Von nearly scoring the springboard cutter on Joe, but Mark shoved Joe out of the way while Wolfgang distracted the referee. Discus lariat gave Joe the win after the distractions.

Joe Hendry concert was the last recorded segment with Joe singing a song about Ethan Page making fun of Ethan in silly pictures of Ethan with action figures and in awkward positions. The main chorus at the end was “Ethan sucks, Believe in Joe, Ethan put on some clothes.” Ethan Page came out and interrupted the song as the fans chanted that chorus at him. He continued to run Joe over as they chanted. NXT GM Ava came out and said that due to Ethan’s actions with the referees she was making a special guest referee for No Mercy’s World Title match and introduced Trick Williams. Joe Hendry laid Ethan out to a standing ovation before posing with the NXT Title in the ring as Trick celebrated with him. The crowd sang the song to Ethan Page who took a moment to get out of the ring to end the night.
