The private sector’s offer of 10 million pesos in cash is essential for Apollo Quiboloy Jr., leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), to ensure he appears in court and defends himself against charges of sexual abuse and exploitation of minors, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said.

The DILG remains committed to upholding justice and protecting the rights of women and children, ensuring that the vulnerable are defended and justice is served,” the ministry said in a statement.

“Let the truth come out and justice be done,” it added.

Earlier, DILG Secretary Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos Jr. had challenged Quiboloy to come forward and answer in court to the charges filed against him.

Addressing Quiboloy directly, Abalos said: “If you are indeed innocent, confront these accusations in the eyes of a court of law. Hiding behind influence or legal maneuvers will not clear your name. True acquittal comes from transparency and accountability. Be a man and prove your innocence where it matters, in court.”

In calling for Quiboloy’s surrender, Abalos stressed that justice “is not only the responsibility of the legal system, but of society as a whole.”

“Let us unite to ensure that every victim receives the justice they deserve. By doing so, we will not only support those affected, but also help build a safer, more just society for future generations,” he added.

Abalos issued the challenge in response to the president’s call for Quiboloy to address the serious allegations against him, which he said included “various forms of abuse.”

The DILG chief also stressed the critical importance of supporting victims and ensuring justice is done, calling the allegations against Quiboloy “serious, involving various forms of abuse. It is imperative that we, as parents, recognize the courage it takes for victims to come forward.”

“By offering our support, we can help them get through this challenging time and encourage others who are suffering in silence to speak out,” Abalos said.
