3 senior police officers sent into retirement

DHAKA, August 21, 2024 (BSS) – Three senior police officials, including two additional inspectors general of police, were forced into retirement today.
The officers are Atikul Islam, Additional IGP and Anwar Hossain, Additional IGP (Replacement) of the police station and Md Asaduzzaman, Additional Commissioner (Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.

The Public Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued three separate notices in this regard.

According to the notice, they were retired for public service in the public interest, in accordance with the provisions of Article 45 of the Public Service Act, 2018.

They are entitled to all supplementary pension provisions in accordance with the rules, it was added.

On August 13, former Special Branch (SB) chief AIG Md Monirul Islam and former DMP commissioner Habibur Rahman were also forced into retirement.
