SEASON TWO OF KING OF THE CROSS PREMIERES ON PARAMOUNT+ AUSTRALIA ON FRIDAY 30 AUGUST 2024: Press Party

August 13, 2024 – Paramount+ Australia today debuted the official trailer for the highly-anticipated new season of original series Last King of The Cross, with the first two exciting episodes premiering exclusively on the platform on Friday, August 30. Episodes will then continue to roll out weekly, as the fictional series follows character John Ibrahim (Lincoln Younes) on his quest to take over the Oxford Street late-night empire.

Internationally, the second season of Last King of The Cross will premiere on August 30 on Paramount+ Canada.

After fleeing to Ibiza to escape his past, John finally returns to Sydney – only to find that things aren’t quite as he left them. The two younger Ibrahim brothers, Fadi (Alex Kaan) and Michael (Dave Hoey) have grown up, while older brother Sam (Claude Jabbour) remains in prison – steadily building a following as he attempts to form his own Black Flags chapter.

With Kings Cross all but dead in the wake of the Royal Commission, John follows a group of colourful partygoers to Oxford Street, the seductive, ecstasy-fuelled new centre of Sydney nightlife. John wants in, but it won’t be easy. Nightclub owner Ray Kinnock (Naveen Andrews – Lost, The Dropout, The English Patient) uses every trick in his well-connected arsenal to challenge John’s crown, while Dean Taylor (Luke Arnold) and Benny Vasquez (Matuse) emerge as new threats.

Sergeant Elizabeth Doyle (Tess Haubrich) tracks John’s every move and ensures that his own brothers cause chaos. John’s separate worlds of business, family and crime collide in eight spectacular and explosive episodes.

Last King of The Cross is a HELIUM Pictures production for Paramount+ Australia with Cineflix Rights as exclusive international distribution partner. The series has received a major production investment from Paramount Australia in association with Screen Australia and is financed with support from Screen NSW through the Made in NSW fund and Fulcrum Media Finance. Post, digital and visual effects support is provided by Screen NSW and Screen Queensland.
