Summary

HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a Deputy Program Manager for Operations to support U.S. Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) operations, planning, deployment and security cooperation in the assigned area of ​​responsibility (AOR), which currently includes Central America, South America and the Caribbean Sea.

USSOUTHCOM, one of six U.S. geographic combatant commands, deters aggression, defeats threats, rapidly responds to crises, and builds regional capacity by working with partner nations and mission partners to enhance security and defend the U.S. homeland and national interests. USSOUTHCOM is responsible for providing contingency planning, operations, and security cooperation in its AOR to understand and counter threats posed by transnational criminal organizations, violent extremist organizations, and malign regional and external state actors.

The Deputy Program Manager for Operations works closely with clients and personnel in support of USSOUTHCOM and GSA AAS-Defense as it executes the Task Order. The Deputy Program Manager’s responsibilities include the coordination and completion of multiple projects on time, within budget, and within scope. Oversees all aspects of program operations across multiple projects. Establishes deadlines, assigns responsibilities, monitors and summarizes project progress consistent with all project deliverables. Prepares reports for government clients and the Program Manager regarding the status of multiple ongoing projects. The successful candidate will directly supervise our various Project Managers to ensure these projects are within their applicable scope and budget.

What you are going to do

  • Responsible for overseeing the program management of all projects executed at USSOUTHCOM Headquarters.
  • Leads all phases of project execution from initiation to closure.
  • Manages the recruitment, onboarding, and human resources for all personnel assigned to projects at USSOUTHCOM Headquarters.
  • Supports all internal company operations to ensure all aspects of projects are in compliance with company policies.
  • Reviews all project deliverables prior to submission to government client to verify accuracy and professional product delivery.
  • Establishes milestones and monitors compliance with master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocating resources or changing contractual specifications.
  • Directs the work of employees assigned to projects at SOUTHCOM headquarters.

What we are looking for

  • 6 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 4 years of relevant work experience with a Master’s degree in a related field; or a high school diploma or equivalent and 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • At least 3 years demonstrable experience in managing teams that implement requirements on government contracts.
  • Strong critical thinking, writing and communication skills to understand customer issues and identify process improvements to address challenges.
  • Organized, flexible, adaptable, team-oriented and able to operate effectively in ambiguous situations.
  • A working knowledge of business methodologies including process mapping, requirements gathering, workflow analysis, and performance measurement.
  • Ability to use MS Office Suite, including Visio, to prepare presentations and gain stakeholder support

Desired requirements

  • Experience managing clients in a dynamic federal environment, where priorities can change rapidly and access to technology can also change dramatically over the life of a project.
  • Previous experience as a management consultant
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP or CAPM)
  • Knowledge and experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools such as R, Python, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Tableau
