Andrew Tate’s Romanian home searched by armed police – The Published Reporter

As part of an ongoing investigation into human trafficking, underage sex and related crimes, armed police officers raided the home of misogynist social media celebrity Andrew Tate on Wednesday, according to an Associated Press (AP) report. Tate, 37, is known for his divisive views and has been accused of sexual abuse and exploitation. He was charged last year with human trafficking, rape and organizing a criminal gang along with his 36-year-old brother Tristan. The brothers are still awaiting trial under house arrest, fighting those charges.

The latest raid by Romania’s anti-organized crime prosecution unit, DIICOT, reportedly focused on allegations of money laundering, human trafficking and sex with a minor, according to a story published by the Associated Press. Numerous armed police officers were seen at Tate’s property, forcing entry with a battering ram. Interviews were to take place later at the agency’s headquarters, according to the statement.

According to AP, Mateea Petrescu, a spokesperson for Tate, confirmed the raid but clarified that the exact charges were unclear. She also stressed the need for a legal team to ensure that the procedures are carried out correctly. “The persons under investigation benefit from the procedural rights and guarantees provided by the Code of Criminal Procedure, as well as the presumption of innocence, throughout the criminal process,” DIICOT said in its statement, according to AP.
