Security withdrawal sparks outrage among Indian women wrestlers

Top Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat has revealed that the Delhi Police have withdrawn security for women wrestlers who are set to testify against former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh in a sexual exploitation case.

Phogat, along with other wrestlers including her niece Sangeeta Phogat, accused Singh, a prominent BJP leader, of sexual exploitation, leading to an FIR and subsequent chargesheet. The hearing is scheduled for Friday.

Phogat criticized the Delhi police action by tweeting, tagging Delhi police and National Commissions of Women in her post. It is notable that Phogat was disqualified from the Paris Olympic finals for being overweight.
