A Romanian court has ruled that internet personality Andrew Tate should be placed under house arrest, his representative said in a social media post on Thursday.
Prosecutors working to combat organized crime had requested that Tate be held for 30 days because he was one of six people arrested in an investigation into human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
The court has ordered that his brother Tristan Tate and an accomplice Georgiana Naghel be placed under judicial supervision. The ruling can be appealed.

The Tate brothers, who were charged in 2023 with human trafficking and rape among other charges, were held for questioning on Wednesday night after investigators searched four properties in Bucharest and the Ilfov region.

A Romanian judge placed Tate under house arrest on Thursday while an investigation continues into new allegations against him, including sex with a minor and human trafficking involving minors, the BBC reported.

The reported house arrest comes a day after authorities raided Tate’s home on a search warrant that his spokesman said contained “suspicions of human trafficking and money laundering.”
