Indiana Jones and The Great Circle could be coming to PS5, just 4 months after its release on Microsoft consoles

Xbox fans aren’t happy, and it’s all because Indiana Jones and the Great CircleThe game was positioned as one of the big reasons to buy a Microsoft console, and many fans were eagerly awaiting the news at Gamescom.

Well, Bethesda Games did come out with some new information, but it wasn’t what fans wanted to hear. The fact that the game is coming out later this year would have been cause for celebration, if it weren’t for the follow-up information that burst every Xbox owner’s bubble.

Indiana Jones and The Great Circle are causing a huge stir among Xbox users

Exclusive games are the biggest reason people buy a specific console. Sony has been dominating since the PlayStation 5 became easier to obtain.

Given that, it would make sense why many developers and studios would want their titles to be on the platform. However, it’s a different story entirely if a supposed Xbox exclusive title for its direct competitor is announced almost immediately!

Gamescom 2024 was an interesting event. While many of the titles we were hoping to see didn’t show up, we did get a fair bit of information about other titles.

One of them was the long awaited Indiana Jones and the Great CircleBethesda’s first attempt at making a game featuring the intrepid explorer. While there were some odd gameplay choices, such as the decision to choose a first-person perspectivethe news was received with much approval.

Check out the official Xbox podcast earlier this yearand Phil Spencer’s announcement that several exclusive games would be released for the PS5 did not go down well with owners of the company’s hardware.

It seems their annoyance was not unwarranted, as it was revealed at Gamescom that Indy would be making its way to Sony’s console after its initial release, leading to much hilarity for those in Sony’s camp.

Based on the tweet above, there could only be a four month gap between the two launches. This would give Bethesda plenty of time to iron out any bugs or glitches post-launch. This would mean that PlayStation would receive the title in a much more polished state than first-party hardware owners!

Phil Spencer’s reaction to the announcement gets memed

Spencer has already explained why he brings exclusive titles to other platforms. That’s all well and good, but it hasn’t stopped netizens from laughing at his reaction to the announcement at the event. It’s not often that the CEO is compared to the antagonist of The boysbut one X user felt this was the most appropriate way to describe the CEO’s response.

Spencer had said on the Podcast earlier this year that the company wanted to bring exclusive titles to competing platforms in order to grow first-party IPs. That makes sense in theory, but it has also angered many fans who buy the company’s consoles hoping for titles that are only available to them.

There are more titles from the company that are planned to come to the PlayStation platform, and this may not be the best decision for Xbox to make. Without exclusive titles, people may not see a reason to enter the ecosystem and widen the already huge gap in hardware sales.
