Tried everything, apps won’t open

I just bought Mafia III on Steam and it has the Mac Supported logo on it. I tried to open it but it says the app has unexpectedly quit or that I need to open Steam to run it. I have updated my software, uninstalled and reinstalled it and restarted my Mac. I am wondering if this has anything to do with Mac permissions?
