MARTINE McCutcheon and Jack McManus’ marriage got off to a “chaotic” start when they tied the knot in 2012.

Former EastEnders star Martine, 48, revealed yesterday that musician Jack, 40, has ended their relationship after 18 years.

The couple, who have a nine-year-old son, Rafferty, together, tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in Lake Como, Italy.

But despite the picturesque and romantic location, Jack previously revealed they had suffered “hidden costs” at the hands of the mafia, with the atmosphere becoming “tense” when he refused to pay.

When he was a guest on The Chris and Rosie Ramsay Show in 2022, just before they renewed their wedding vows, he said: “It would be nice to do something relaxing.

“Our wedding was beautiful, I wouldn’t change it for the world, but it was quite busy. We had these amazing wedding planners who were amazing.”

Martine McCutcheon revealed her split from husband Jack McManus in an emotional post on her Instagram Stories.

It came just weeks after the former EastEnders actress, 48, told how her love for the 40-year-old singer was “unconditional” – and how she was looking forward to their “next chapter”.

Jack is a singer-songwriter who attended the famous BRIT School.

The couple met in the early 2000s at a live music venue in Piccadilly.

Martine previously told about their first meeting: “We met and that was it.”

The former couple married in 2012 at Lake Como in Italy.

The couple welcomed their son Rafferty in 2015.

On August 22, 2024, Martine announced the breakup on social media.

Jack continued: “We said, ‘We’d love fireworks,’ and they said, ‘Yeah, you have to make a donation to the lake.’ It’s a donation, just like to the mafia. We had to pay them so many hidden fees.

“It was like, ‘So, you want boats in this part of the lake? Okay, you need to make a donation.’ These weren’t hundreds, these were thousands.”

Jack revealed that they had to pay more when the mafia found out they had sold the rights to the photos of the big day to a magazine, but he refused to pay, leaving Martine “petrified”.

Martine added: “I thought, ‘Oh my god, there’s going to be a dead horse’s head in our bed!’ I was terrified.

“I said something like, ‘Don’t stand there now, Jack, please be quiet.’ But he didn’t want to donate anymore.”

But before they even got to Lake Como, Martine and Jack’s wedding was thrown into chaos when one of her bridesmaids bailed.

Just 10 days before the ceremony, Martine’s former best friend Kim Crawford dropped out, calling the singer and actress “evil and vindictive.”

While trying on her wedding dress, over a glass of champagne, Martine is said to have told Kim that her husband Jason had kissed another woman during his bachelor party.

Kim later told The Sun: “I was upset and felt like Martine was enjoying watching me in pain. But when I confronted Jason about it later, he was devastated – he’d never kissed anyone else before. It was all malicious lies to throw a spanner in the works.”

She emailed Martine to let her know that she no longer wanted to be part of her and Jack’s big day.

In 2022, Martine and Jack renewed their wedding vows with just one guest – son Rafferty – at the five-star Beaverbrook Hotel.
