The successful candidate will build relationships with key customers and internal departments to drive new product innovation and manage product lines. Main objective: The Clinical Product Manager Associate – Global Endoscopy is responsible for supporting our multi-specialty imaging solution, clinical training and fluorescence imaging – with a focus on general surgery, supporting sales opportunities, performance, training and other activities with the sales force, surgeons and accounts within his/her respective region. This role will focus on the Eastern United States.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Support sales opportunities in the field with expert support materials and education
  • Train and educate sales teams in fluorescence, general surgery
  • Provides leadership and guidance to other product/project managers
  • Participates in overall product strategy, research and development requirements, development and production coordination for new and emerging products.
  • Manages technical product development, estimates potential profits and ensures release for production.
  • Manages the daily progress of the product.
  • Provides technical expertise and training to other departments to support product development.
  • Conducts marketing analysis to develop product definitions.
  • Works with a broad range of functional departments, including sales, engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and operations, to develop and deliver product definitions that meet customer needs and market opportunities.
  • Develops and maintains a prioritized list of customer and market requirements for the product.
  • Conducts market research and identifies and monitors market trends in the industry in which the company operates.
  • Produces competitive analysis material comparing the product to key competitors.
  • Identifies partnership opportunities for complementary third-party products to expand the company’s product offering.
  • Participates in key sales situations for the product.
  • Maintains communications and contacts to gather and analyze technical, financial, planning, and sales information for the product line.
  • Identifies market potential, establishes pricing and marketing strategies, estimates potential sales, introduces market, distribution/channel issues, and manages mature products through to phase-out.
  • Defines promotional activities and promotes the product through the press, sales force and alternative distribution channels.
  • Provides expertise in a specific product area and develops strategies and applicable components of the company’s business plan.
  • Plans, organizes and coordinates assigned programs to ensure that financial/budgetary objectives are achieved and resources are optimally allocated.
  • Manages resources to carry out assigned programs.
  • Coordinates program details within the organization with a wide range of functions and individuals.
  • Coordinates product introduction and market exploitation with marketing and sales organizations to ensure maximum penetration of the market segment.
  • Ensures ongoing product monitoring and management of identified products to achieve financial objectives.
  • Must be able to work with corpses and pig samples.
  • Based in Naples or remotely on the East Coast
  • Travel to customer locations for sales opportunities is required.
  • Up to 60% travel expense reimbursement required.

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, engineering, or clinical.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in product management, sales, engineering, or clinical applications of medical devices OR a Master’s degree is required.
  • General surgery/clinical experience preferred
  • Knowledge of all functions involved in the development, production and marketing of a product is an advantage.
  • Travel to customer locations for sales opportunities is required.

Knowledge and skills requirements/specialized courses and/or training:

  • Knowledge of general surgical anatomy and procedures and fluorescence imaging is an advantage
  • Skilled in collaborating with different functions and effectively coordinating their activities to achieve desired results.
  • Excellent listening skills, including the ability to identify and isolate customer concerns or objections, in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrable willingness to travel for previous positions is an advantage.
  • Skill in working with cadaver and pig samples is required.
