Why Mafia: The Old Country’s Setting Could Be Exactly What the Franchise Needs

Nearly eight years after the third game was released, Mafia: The Old CountryThe fourth installment in the series has finally been revealed. A short teaser trailer has revealed that developer Hangar 13 has decided to go in a new direction with the game’s setting. Instead of continuing the series’ timeline by moving on to the 1970s and beyond, Mafia: The Old Country will instead be set in the early 1800s and feature a story woven around the birth of the Mafia in Sicily. This change of pace could prove to be a smart move and just what the series needs.
