Here goes Gathering of the Juggalos post 3 of 6. I told you 7 last time because there is a 7th post but I will post in a few weeks or so because it’s not really part of this coverage and I want to get a few more posts out before I drop it. Anyway, we have Gathering Bands today and then one post a day until Monday and then we can all move on with our lives. Deal?

Okay, this might take forever, but I’m technically on vacation, so I’m going to do this as quickly as possible. It’s mostly going to be a list of artists I photographed, in order, with a few notes. Also, I only photographed the main stage this year. I’m too old to spend 12 hours at a music festival unless I’m getting paid a lot more than I was to photograph the Gathering. Sorry.

I got there a little late on Wednesday so the first artist I photographed was Young Mo$h, followed by Shaggy the Airhead who I’m going to highlight because 1) I love his clothing line and 2) more importantly, he came up to me to tell me how much he loves my photography so he and his clothes get a shout out. He was followed by the Hatchet Man Project, Scum and Insane Poetry, and horrorcore legend Esham was the headliner.

Thursday I accidentally missed Darby O’Trill. I wanted to shoot him because he’s dating my boyfriend, but I blew it. I did get to see Mastamind, the Dayton Family, and Merkules. ICP headlined a throwback set to their 1998 House of Horrors show, a tour I saw them on because my very first girlfriend really loved them. Shout out Latiffa.

My old friend Zac Amico was hosting on stage on Friday so I got to take some pictures of him doing his thing, including getting his head stapled. Apparently I missed SalamanderX but I did see Twisted Insane and Ganksta NIP. I was most excited to see Rakim, which was fucking awesome. The juggalos had mixed reactions. Too many people had no idea who he was, but others were more excited than I was. I talked to an older juggalo who should know better and had no idea who he was and he told me he didn’t listen to rap, which surprised me. Anyway, Rakim was by far the highlight of the show. Kim Dracula was a crowd favorite, someone told me they were a less problematic Marilyn Manson, which is a great way to describe everyone. My dude Ouija Macc was the headliner, and I always look forward to seeing him.

The last night was a shitshow for me. My phone got wet and the charger cable stopped working and I drove to Walmart to get a wifi charger and I missed the first few artists. My goal was to be back in time for DJ Paul but I just missed the beginning of his set so I wasn’t allowed to take any close up pictures. I made my way to the pit and got a few from the crowd but then it started raining. I hid in a carnival booth and just jammed to Three Six Mafia hits while keeping my camera gear dry. I also helped a carnival attendant put away all of his stuffed animals which he really appreciated and told me I could stay dry there all night. My poncho was in the car, but a juggalette gave me one, which was awesome of her, and I stuck around for Static X. Their frontman died since the last time they played the Gathering and it was really weird that they just replaced him with some kind of cyborg version, but it was fun to photograph anyway. ICP closed the night, but it was raining hard and I was exhausted and in pain because I’m old and my phone was fucked up and I didn’t want to get covered in Faygo because I had to go on vacation and I didn’t want my beachwear to smell like mildew, so I said fuck it and went back to my hotel. If you need photos of ICP, feel free to check out the other two dozen times I’ve photographed them.

Okay, that’s it. See you tomorrow with lots of nighttime photos and events.
